New Work

For the past year, I had been working long hours on three large metal assemblage sculptures: a spider, monarch caterpillar and monarch butterfly. I’m happy to report that they were just added to the side of the school building at PS 107 in Park Slope, Brooklyn this Spring. The year before, Humble Bumble Bee was installed there on Earth Day. At that same time, we took down my older installation, “Ecosystem,” from 2008. I have learned a great deal since then and now only use noble metals for outside art – especially if it will be up for several years. The new installation is called, “Ecosystem [Rebirth].” The sculptures are made with stainless steel, copper, brass and glass enamel on copper for select color. Ecosystem [Rebirth] represents our Super Heroes; the Pollinators. In honor of Earth Day, everyday.
